Name: Soda Can Huggies
Gift for: Work supervisor, librarian, pastor, or movie lover
Fabrics Used: Dots and Zig Zag from Remix
Pattern: Free pattern available here
Don’t you hate it when you have a cold water bottle or soda pop and you can barely hold it? Well, these huggies put an end to cold hands.
To make these little huggies into a great gift, you need to combine them with some other things. You could create a “Sports Themed” basket full of small weights, gloves, headbands. Or a “Movie in Box” would work for just about anyone. Here’s what you’ll need for a “Movie in a Box”
1. Buy really great movies. I like old classic movies. Perhaps, you could get all chic flicks or maybe adventure movies. Try to stick to a theme.
2. Get a bunch of “movie” theater-type of candies for him/her to munch on.
3. Popcorn, popcorn, popcorn. You could make a flavored popcorn or get kettle corn. (I personally think Target has great popcorn. Yes, Target).
And finally, use your huggie for the soda pops. Simple and easy.

I love this guy. The other evening, I was watching Happy Feet and thinking how penguins are the cutest. About five minutes later, I got an email from Virginia showing me her little dude. (The stars aligned on this day). If you have a little one that loves stuffed animals, this would be a great gift. Super sweet.
Featured Crafter:Virginia Lindsay of Gingercake
Gift for: Grandchildren, kids you babysit, or for people who like to cuddle wuddle with the most adorablist of penguins. Happy Feet watch out!
Fabrics Used: Izzy flannel
Pattern: Pattern is available here. Use “AnnKelle” code at checkout for a discount of 25% off.
Best gift ever received? “My SEWING MACHINE! My mom gave it to me when I was 15 when I showed the tiniest bit of interest but I didn’t really start using it until I was 28.” — Virginia

Name: Coasters
Gift for: Next door neighbor, yoga teacher, or fussy parent
Fabrics Used: Bermuda Dots, Bermuda Mod-Flowers, and Bermuda Lined-Dots (Summer) from Remix
Pattern: Free pattern available here
My Dad fussed at us when I was home for Thanksgiving for not using a coaster. So, this is one of the gifts I’m giving to him for Christmas. (I’m so funny). This sewing project is super easy. Stack these babies up and tie a ribbon around them, and call it a day. The perfect little, thoughtful gift.

When I first saw the Lollipop Shoppe Quilt at the Quilt Market this fall, I had no idea Kimberly Jolly of The Fat Quarter Shop had made it. I was in awe! It’s such a fun and playful quilt. It’s like the Lollipop Shoppe Quilt and Dessert Party were made for each other . . . like a happily married couple or something. Well, if you like this quilt (like I do), you can purchase a pattern right here. Or better yet, they have a kit for both the aqua and brown version. (Kits make everything simple, don’t you think?) And because I’m so sweet on this quilt, I decided to sponsor a giveaway over on The Jolly Jabber blog. So, head on over to read all about it.

Here’s my newest line, Dessert Party. It comes in three color ways. (I’m trying to decide which is my favorite).
The inspiration behind this line? If you know me at all, you know that I love food and have a serious sweet tooth. In my dream world (which I visit from time to time), we eat dessert first, before dinner. On somedays we might even eat dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And we devour batter bowls leaving very little left. But, since I can’t live in my dream world of sweets, I thought I’d design it, which brought me to Dessert Party . . . a celebration of all things sweet and yummy. Dessert Party will be available in stores in December.

This picture stole my heart when I saw it. First off, I love super heros. But, then you add the striped leg warmers and the adorable little girl with a cape. What could be cuter? Nothing, in my opinion. I just had to share this with you guys. Read more about Lily’s big day here.

Misha Lulu is known for their retro-modern attire for children. The ingenuity behind their line is fabulous. This Fall they even collaborated with the lovely Hello Kitty, which is seriously beyond adorable. And last spring, my black and white fabric made it’s way into their children’s line. So cute. I’m so happy to introduce (insert drumroll) the new additions to Remix! There are a total of 37 new prints/colors. Full of simple designs in lots of yummy colors. My love of bold colors continues with these new additions. We also added some new color ways. New prints, such as the scattered dots (inspired by confetti) and bold graphic flowers, are some of my favorites. I also found a way to incorporate my love of stripes with the dotted-stripe print. I have so many sewing projects in mind with these new prints, some already in the works. These fabrics starts shipping to stores in November. But, some stores already have them listed online (see here and here).

Jane Foster is screen print designer from the UK who loves bold and cheery designs that appeal to both adults and children. I’ve always been drawn to her work because she incorporates the designs of some of my favorites designers (Orla Kiely and Marimekko). But, boy, was I in for a treat when I visited her online store to see that some of my designs made it into her lovely sewn goods. (Insert: a HUGE smile). These would be awesome gifts for the holidays. Visit her store here.
And she also has the cutest house. Seen here and here

I absolutely love when this happens . . . yesterday evening I visited the awesome Hostess with the Mostess site and stumbled upon this ADORABLE hot air balloon birthday party from Paige of Paiges of Style. I was blown away! From the rainbow macaroons to the hot air balloon basket. They even had a chandelier at the party! I’m so happy that my fabric was a part of Quinne’s special day. Hello again, friends of Kelle! My name is Linda and I am the author of the personal style blog, Little Tin Soldier. I’m returning with another fun back-to-school DIY especially designed for teachers and moms.
Cork bulletin boards are helpful at home and school for organizing notes. Dress them up with fabric and ribbon to create a cheerful (and easily readable) work of art for your family or students.
Daisy Mae Bulletin Board
Materials:
– Cork bulletin board (with or without frame)
– Fabric (featured fabric by Ann Kelle)
– Assorted ribbon
– Manila shipping tags
– Markers
– Stapler
– Pushpins or thumbtacks
Directions
1. Lay the bulletin board on top of your fabric. The right side of both board and fabric should face down.
2. Trim the fabric and leave at least 2″ fabric on each side.
3. Beginning with one side, fold the fabric over the back of the board and secure with a stapler or pins.
4. Repeat for all sides, pulling fabric taught as needed.
5. Turn the board over.
6. Use wide strips of ribbon to create columns and secure with a stapler or pins.
7. Add manila shipping tags to designate days of the week (or use names for a family or group). Secure with pins.
8. Organize activities, business cards, or notes by pinning them to the appropriate column of ribbon.

(Today I have a treat for you! One of my favorite style blogger’s Linda from Little Tin Solider has a super easy + cute DIY project. She’s the best! xo, Kelle)
My name is Linda and I am the author of the personal style blog, Little Tin Soldier. I’m a big fan of Kelle’s artwork, and I am honored to share a back-to-school DIY with her readers.
As a schoolteacher, I understand that families spend a fair amount of money on supplies, clothing, and backpacks. Inevitably some of those items end up in lost-and-found or even long-and-forgotten. Let’s help out our amazing kids with attachable (and detachable) name clips! Here are the instructions:
Name Clippies
Materials:
– 1″ curtain ring clip
– Assorted ribbon
– Needle and thread
– Assorted charms
– Jump rings
– Jewelry pliers
– Puffy paint
Directions
1. Choose a clip style.
2. For a monogrammed clip, attach silver letters or charms (available at most craft stores) to the curtain ring with jump rings. Decorate with your child’s initials (as shown) or spell out his/her entire name.
3. For a charmed clip, attach charms to your child’s liking. Fold and sew a 3/4″ ribbon along the edges of the curtain ring. Using puffy paint, embellish with his/her name.
4. For a ribbon clip, fold and sew a 1.5″ ribbon along the edges of the curtain ring. Using puffy paint, embellish with his/her name.
5. Allow the paint to dry for 24 hours.
6. Clip to your child’s lunch sack, sweater, jacket, or backpack.
