free tutorial: ipad, kindle & nook sleeve
June 12, 2012My Ipad needed something pretty to cover it. Anna of The Joy Cottage made these adorable sleeves. She’s pretty awesome. There are 3 different FREE patterns (for the Ipad, Kindle and Nook).
What I love about this sewing tutorial is that there are several options. First, you have the option to have a button or zipper closure. On “The Ruby” pattern, you get to choose where you’d like the diagonal part. And finally, they are instructions for the Ipad, Kindle and Nook. Lots and lots of options. See why I think Anna’s awesome?
Pick your favorite look and have fun sewing!
1. The “Claire” pattern
2. The “Penelope” pattern
3. The “Ruby” pattern
4. The “Ruby” pattern
(Please note: For added support, add as much cushioning as you want. This sleeve is to be used as a case. Additional protection may be needed to keep you ipad, kindle, or nook safe.)

Love this little accessory for the IPad. I will make one soon for both a Nook and IPad.
Thank you for sharing.
Need to add some sort of handle on it too. I’ve been looking for a bag for my Daughters Ipad…I might be able to make the adjustments needed! Thanks for the pattern!!! Super cute 🙂
So cute! I need to make one of those! 🙂
These are awesome! Love the punches of colour. Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow, these are gorgeous!!! Thanks so much to both of you. I just downloaded one (clicked over from Craft!) and I would LOVE to link to your pattern on my site if you didn’t mind!
Wow! Thank you so much for making a Kindle pattern as well as an iPad one – I was looking for ages! I love the colours, and the patterns are just cute.
Thanks again! 🙂

Hello,
I’m from Europe and I’m not using patterns with American measurements that often, and I have a question that might sound super basic to you.
In the pattern it says, “Seam allowance is 1/4”.” Does that mean that the seam allowance is already *included* in the measurements for the fabric pieces? Or do I leave room for the seam myself, and the measurements given are the exact sides I’m supposed to sew together?
I’d just measure it myself, but I don’t even have a Kindle yet, haha…
The patterns are so lovely, thanks a lot for sharing them!
