The cassette tapes is one of my fabric prints from the Beatbox collection. So, I was pretty excited when they made a bag out of it. The Robert Kaufman team worked with Amanda to make this cool messenger bag. Make your own with this free pattern.
Lookie at this cheery quilt! Erica of Kitchen Table Quilting did a superb job combining all of my the prints and various color ways of the Girl Friends into one quilt. There’s mermaids, ballerinas, princess and the newest print fairies. She also used Remix and Kona solids. It’s such a bright+ happy quilt. To get a free tutorial, head here.
Today I have a wonderful tutorial to share with you by Mandy of Fabric Paper Glue. I “heart” hearts. Seriously, I’m gaga over just about anything with hearts . . . heart sunglasses, heart rings, heart pillows, pants with hearts, heart shirts, and now clutches. There are lots of cute heart clutches out there. (Have you seen this one? It’s SO perfect!) Clutches are great for when you don’t want to carry a lot, but need something to carry your little necessities (i.e. cell phone, lip gloss, etc.). Well, I teamed up with Mandy to make this tutorial (she’s got a thing for hearts, too!) Head to Fabric Paper Glue for the tutorial. For an added bonus, I’m not only sharing a FREE tutorial, but I’m giving away one of the clutches. To enter simply leave a comment. A random winner will be selected on Valentine’s Day (Friday, February 14th). UPDATE: Congratulations to Jacelyn! You were selected as the random winner.
We made a bunch of these easy-to-make heart brooches for Valentine’s Day. They’re not perfect, but I like that about them. I think this would be a great tutorial for a child. We used my Remix fabric with Kona solids on the back. After making the hearts, I noticed that there are actually several things these hearts could be used for. You could make them into garland, a necklace or even a shoe clip . . . lots of options.
Quilting with a Modern Slant by Rachel May is a new book that is just hitting book stores. The book includes interviews from the people from the quilting community, projects and tons of inspiration, not to mention there’s some pretty gorgeous quilts featured. There’s so much inspiration in the book and it’s really interesting to read the stories of so many people in the quilting community. Rachel interviewed me for the book and boy, was I nervous. My interview is found in the the “For the Love of Color” section . . . because I really love color. I talk about my “story” in starting Ann Kelle. Kelly made this AWESOME heart quilt for the book. She used kona solids and prints from my Remix collection. We sat in a coffee shop to discuss the layout and pick out the colors, fabrics, etc . . . I always like picking out the colors and prints. To read more about the book, head here or purchase one here . Thank you, Rachel for including me in the book. I’m quite honored.
Another fabric collection being released this month is, Wonder. I’m so excited about this fabric line! Wonder is a place full of happy. I’m a child of the 80s, which I’m sure has a lot to do with my inspiration behind this line. I remember loving unicorns as child, but I have to be honest . . . I’m still a big fan. This happy fabric collection ships to stores this month.
I’m so happy to share with you my new fabric collection, “Beatbox.” The inspiration behind this line comes from my childhood. My Dad worked for a radio station for over 30 years. He started out spinning records but went on to do everything from managing a radio station to being a radio talk show personality. Needless to say, we grew up surrounded by music and developed an early appreciation of music. As children, my sister and I played “DJ”. We had a microphone and would make mix tapes, which would include us introducing the songs, interviewing make-believe guests, reading the news and other silly antics. We also had a mini record player and a boom box, as well as a bunch of little musical instruments. I remember visiting the station (sometimes we got to be in the commercials!), going to concerts, etc. (The first concert I remember attending is Kool and the Gang when I was four.) Music was a huge part of my childhood and I’m honored I get to share this through my artwork. “Beatbox” is being released this month. This line features boom boxes, cassette tapes, and headphones. It’s available in two fun color ways.
Above are some of the records from my sister and my collection. I still have the huge box of the records we played as a kid.
My girls are back again for another adventure. This time as fairies! I think I’ve said this before, but I LOVE drawing these girls. They’re so special to me, so it’s an absolute honor that I was able to add another print. This makes print 4 or 5 (depending upon if you include Super Kids). See my other girl friends prints here: Mermaids, Ballerinas, Princesses, and Super Kids. This fabric groups ships to stores this month.
My best friend found this easy scarf tutorial and made a bunch of scarves out of my Remix flannel. Once you make one, you’ll want to make a ton! Find the easy tutorial she used here by Sew Creative.
We add two new slicker prints. I was so happy that we were able to add my ballet flats, which is also available in cotton fabric. This is one of my favorite prints.
I’m REALLY into the colors black and white these days. So, I was totally excited when I found Augie and Lola. They have a TON of handmade goods for babies. They also have other colorful items, such as my heart print, chevrons and mermaids. Cuteness overload!
Happy New Year! I hope this year is full of nothing but the best for you in 2014. Lots of love, laughter, peace and lots and lots of sparkle. See more of my New Years cards here.

I saw this fun Jelly Roll Jam Christmas Quilt by The Stitching Scientist on Instagram. (Tag me on your projects #annkelle so I can see your creation!) There’s so much color and joy going on in this quilt. Remona used the free quilt pattern from The Fat Quarter Shop and the Jingle Jelly Roll to make the quilt. I featured my new Jingle prints last February, so it’s great to see them in this year’s holiday projects. I’m hosting a giveaway of my original Jingle prints over on Remona’s blog. Head there to enter!
Each year I’ve added something new to my Christmas decor. My Christmas tree had plenty of ornaments, but I felt it was missing something. Like a present without a bow on top or something. So, this year I worked with Andrea of Knitty Bitties in creating a Christmas tree skirt. I knew I wanted something bright and cheery. I designed the skirt and Andrea made it a reality. I used a bunch of my Remix chevron and dot prints, as well as lots of Kona solids. Andrea also made it reversible. To make your own happy Christmas tree skirt, head here for a free tutorial. And a huge thank you to Andrea!
I have a cute video to share with you from Kimberly Jolly. At Quilt Market this Fall, she went around and found some of her favorite finds. She featured my telephone print and also shared a funny story.
Also, remember this beauty I shared with you from Quilt Market? Well, the free tutorial is up on Robert Kaufman’s blog. Find it here.
My Remix ovals are featured in the Winter issue of Better Homes and Gardens Quilts and More magazine. They had a challenge for three designers (Carrie Nelson , Patty Young, and Shea Henderson) to use the oval prints plus a solid gray in a project that is cute and functional. I think they did an awesome job! You can find the instructions for these projects in the magazines, which are out now. (I found mine at Publix, I think). However, you can get instructions for Patty’s backpack here. You can also order a kit of the fabric used in this project through the Fat Quarter Shop.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Today, I’m happy to share with you this cute camera quilt. My friend Kelly came up with this quilt idea to mimic one of the cameras in my “This and That” fabric collection. I think she did an awesome job.
Read below for the full tutorial by Kelly. (more…)
Before we take some time for Thanksgiving, I wanted to share my new holiday cards for Tiny Prints. For this collection, I incorporated different textures such as glitter, metallic and textured paper. One of the new options for Tiny Prints’ holiday cards, is the various trim options (not shown in the photos). And look how fun the backs of the cards are! To view my entire collection, head here. I also designed holiday party invitations, holiday gift tags, thank you cards, and address labels. Happy Thanksgiving friends! Receive $30 off any $100+ order (has to be an Ann Kelle design). The offer will expired 12/31/12. Code: ANNKELLE13
I’m so happy to share with you my new Remix metallic fabric. For my stationery designs, I’ve been incorporating lots of metallics and glitter, so I was excited we were able to add this texture to fabric. Robert Kaufman has also added metallic to their Spot On collection. I’m a huge fan of shiny + glittery textures, and can’t wait to use this fabric in upcoming holiday projects. This was also the fabric that was used on my settee at Quilt Market. It looked so cute! This fabric is already in stores.
